Seattle Shockwave/Acoustic Compression Therapy for Pain Relief and Mobility

Heal pain faster, reduce pain meds, and restore improved mobility with a non-invasive treatment to trigger your body’s own healing processes in a short therapy time of only 15-30 minutes.

Shockwave/Acoustic Compression Therapy uses precision applied sound waves to trigger your body to respond to the targeted area.

The nature of the therapy and the equipment we use enables us to pin-point the treatment directly to the source of pain or reduced mobility, for both a more effective and more targeted solution. This therapy allows us to target and treat both shallow and deep sources triggering your pain or stiffness.

It is applicable to any area of the body, including muscles, tendons, and joints.

Dr. Squires uses this innovative therapy to treat injured areas causing both acute and chronic pain by:

  • Improving range of motion
  • Reducing pain, stiffness, and chronic inflammation
  • Improving circulation that helps faster healing
  • Stimulating collagen production
  • Signaling stem cell and growth factors
  • Helping you get back to your daily activities with a completely outpatient treatment

How Shockwave/Acoustic Compression Therapy Works

Shockwave therapy, also known as Myofascial Acoustic Compression Therapy, uses sound (acoustic) waves to trigger biochemical changes in living tissue.

Mechanical forces induce a wide range of cellular events, including cell proliferation, differentiation, gene expression and protein synthesis of connective tissue components. They also signal production of cytokines (protein messengers), growth factors and stem cells to the injured area.

But not all pain actually starts from where it feels like the pain is emanating from. So part of the process can include discovering the true source of the pain so that the root of the pain is targeted and resolved.

Dr. Squires uses the PiezoWave2 device and her medical experience to root out the source of your pain, and heal it with targeted application of these acoustic waves.

She uses your feedback during the treatment to identify the source and heal it, so you can get back to your normal life activities without the use of surgery or medications.

How Long Does ShockWave/Acoustic Compression Treatment Take?

One of the advantages of ShockWave/Acoustic Compression Therapy is that it is a non-invasive, quick, and targeted therapy.

Sessions are as short as 15-30 minutes.

Normally, treatments are performed 1-2 times per week as part of your treatment plan that can vary depending on the nature of the pain and whether it is an acute or chronic condition.

3-6 treatments may be needed to achieve significant improvements.

I consulted with Dr. Squires about chronic low back pain. We discussed using an acoustic wave machine. She explained that this treatment had been used with some success with arthritis. I know I have some arthritis in my lower back along with a bit of nerve pain from a Laminectomy.

After my first session, I had no pain in my back for about a week. Some of the pain has returned, but not as severe as in the past.

Now remember this was only one treatment.

I am excited to continue more treatments and have something that has finally worked for my low back pain.
